Many iconic American dishes and treats have been examined individually like chocolate, circus peanuts, and peanut butter. Episodes have a theme like favorite movie snacks, peanut butter snacks, and deli items. It is hosted by Mark Summers on the Food Network. Unwrapped in an American television series that takes a behind the scenes view of how some of America's most beloved treats are made. To date there are 308 episodes all based on unique foods. This show has been on for nine seasons since 2001. Not only does this show go in depth about foods, it also has an episode about toys that are made to put in fast food meals for children, and one about sparkling cider. For instance there is an episode about beef jerky, one about honey baked ham, and another on chicken soup. Most episodes are about sweets but there are also savory episodes. They have holiday candy episodes about candy corn, candy canes, Kwanza candies, and Valentine's Day heart candies. This show has also done episodes on small time businesses like Hammond's candy. Since some foods have a secret ingredient or process, the episodes shows as much of the process as it is allowed.
